What he never knew was that Diana had burned out all her witch’s essence to save him, leaving her with only three days to live.​ While tormenting Diana brutally, Arthur planned to marry Mary. He even used the skeleton of their dead infant to make a bow for Mary’s son, pushing Diana to the edge of collapse. On the wedding day, Diana died of exhaustion at the ritual altar.​ Arthur finally learned the truth: Mary was the real traitor who had sown discord between the two clans and murdered his family. Overwhelmed with remorse, he desperately revived Diana with the blood of her clansmen, and tortured himself with nine hundred and ninety-nine acupuncture needles to atone. But all he got was Diana’s deep hatred and her determination to leave.​ In the end, Diana escaped with the help of Arthur’s kind relatives and went far away. Arthur set fire to the werewolf camp and burned himself alive, drowning in endless regret. The custom-made wedding dress he had prepared for Diana was left forever, waiting for an owner who would never come.
