This film tells the story of Loretta, a kind-hearted teacher, who marries Philander, one of America's top criminal psychologists. Cold-natured and obsessed with his work, Philander never shows his affection, leaving Loretta feeling deeply lonely throughout their three-year marriage. On their fourth wedding anniversary, she is brutally killed by a serial killer with a slit throat.
